Our history

The story of Beeckman Belgium begins with founder William Beeckman in 1984. Today, the company is run with the same passion by his godson, Jonas. Here are the key milestones in our history:

Beeckman started

With nothing more than a van, a carefully selected range of spices and a wealth of expertise, William Beeckman took his first steps in the Belgian butchery world. Alongside his role as a teacher at CERIA – where he passed on his passion for the butcher’s trade – he developed the ambition to support butchers outside the classroom as well. With expert advice and quality products, he wanted to help professionals take their trade to the next level. Thus began the story of a company driven by passion, knowledge and dedication: the beginning of something special.

started exporting to Africa

A phone call at two in the morning with an urgent order for 300 kg of nutmeg for export to Africa was all William needed to see the possibilities. What would have been an unexpected request for many became the starting point of a new chapter for him. Driven by entrepreneurship and an open-minded view of the world, he took on the challenge. This gave rise to a story in which our knowledge and expertise were no longer limited to Europe, but also found their way to Africa – an expansion of our passion across borders.

Television appearance in Burkina Faso

William Beeckman appeared on TV at the Ouagadougou stadium in Burkina Faso during the CAN. He was selling sandwiches with home-made luncheon sausage.

A growing company, partly thanks to a number of takeovers over the last few decades. Just think of great companies such as Lampo, Jos Duveaux, Plastic, Prabo and Specian. The aim behind all these takeovers was to be able to support our customers with the best expertise and high-quality products.

Beeckman started its own production line with BFP. As a result, we managed to supply customers throughout Belgium with our own spices and spice blends in one go.

Our range includes all the essentials for butchers, catering businesses and much more. To serve you as best as possible, we deliver twice a week in Flanders and Wallonia. Do you live in the Brussels region? Then we deliver daily. This way, you are guaranteed to receive your order within 48 hours.

You are also most welcome as a private individual. You can collect your butchery supplies yourself at our reception desk during business hours.
